What a game last night. There was no way UNC could shoot in the second half like they did in the first, and UD stepped up the defense nicely. In the 2 games in Newark, the second half point totals were Delaware 85, Opponents 46. Impressive. UNC shot almost 50% in the first half and was 6-10 from 3-point range... getting them in foul trouble helped but so did the extra hustle to deny Buckland the wide-open shots.

As has been written all over, what a game from Lucas and the supporting cast overall. The team ex-Elena shot 60% in the second half and protected the ball really well. Only 9 turnovers against a fast, physical team. Elena did not have her best shooting night although she was very active and almost every possession ran through her, which created a ton of opportunities and I can't recall a game with that many offensive rebounds by the Hens. We had 7 players get double-digit minutes- more than I would have expected since Miller wasn't one of the 7- and we got some quality minutes from Leon in the first half after Elena twisted her ankle and to spell Buchanan who had 2 fouls.

Not sure we win either of those games on a neutral floor- last night was an insane crowd. Great showing by the fans to make a lot of noise.

    On to Bridgeport!

According to UNC's sad sack coach, the crowd had no effect on the result. Ha! IMO, Hatchell's poor decision to foul EDD early and often made all of the difference in the world. If you sell out that way, EDD's going to kill you from the foul line. Did she not watch any tapes from regular season games?! That bad tactic ultimately exposed UNC's lack of discipline and depth. With UNC's two best players sitting on the bench, it allowed the Hens to use size to THEIR advantage. Once the Hens blanketed the perimeter and took away the 3's, UNC couldn't go inside.
