Could the Palestra in Philadelphia really be a front-runner for the relocation of the CAA Tournament? Is taking the tourney from the backyard of one school to next door of another really the answer?
Via Andy Katz:
The CAA is also looking at options for moving the conference tournament out of Richmond now that VCU has split. The deal with Richmond goes through 2014. C-USA decided to pull its conference tournament out of Memphis because the Tigers are leaving for the Big East. C-USA moved its tournament to Tulsa for 2013. The CAA is now investigating the feasibility of putting its 2013 tournament at the famed Palestra in Philadelphia, which would be a major coup for league contender Drexel. Drexel’s campus is a block or two away from Penn’s Palestra homecourt. Baltimore and Atlantic City are also being discussed as potential future CAA tourney homes. A decision is due soon.

Walked through @TigerArena today and heard the sound system for the first time. It made the floor move. WOW! Lots of bass. #CAAHoops
Yemi Makanjuola, a 6-foot-9 center, is transferring from Tennessee to #UNCW. Will sit out in 13-14, have 2 years to play. #caahoops
@BGMull 2014 is much different. Thought it was a 2013 kid. Yes, the Tribe should be very good this year. Definitely #CAAhoops contenders.

So it’s finally admitted that the tournament was in Richmond because of VCU. I’ll take things that are “obvious but can’t be said for the record” for 100, alex.
