FRIDAY OPENING ROUND

Noon: #8 James Madison vs. #9 UNCW

One meeting, won by JMU on 1/18 69-61. JMU trailed 53-52 with five minutes to play but scored nine straight to take command late. Humpty Hitchens scored 27 points for JMU, and Keith Rendleman had a 12/17 double double.

2:30:  #5 Delaware vs. #12 Towson

UD was 2-0 vs. Towson, winning 62-43 on January 23 and 76-69 on February 22. Jarvis Threatt scored 29 points, including 16-19 free throws, in the February win.

6:00: #7 Northeastern vs. #10 William & Mary

Teams split during the regular season. NU won 64-50 in Boston on January 14, and W&M won 79-54 in Williamsburg on February 11. The Huskies have never beaten W&M in Virginia.

8:30: #6 Georgia State vs. #11 Hofstra

Georgia State won the lone meeting between these two, a 59-43 decision at Hofstra on February 4. The Panthers held Hofstra to 29.3% shooting overall and the Pride made just 3-22 from three.
