Freedom High School graduate Cam Long scores career-high 30 points in GMU’s win
Senior Cam Long scored a career-high 30 points and George Mason held off James Madison in a 75-73 win on Saturday.
The Freedom High School graduate sealed the victory by converting two free throws down the stretch. For the game, Long was 8 of 9 in field-goal shooting, including going 4 for 4 from 3-point range. He was also 10 of 13 from the free-throw line and had a game-high five assists.
Long is the first GMU player to score 30 points in a game since Dre Smith scored 34 on Jan. 19, 2008. That game was also at James Madison when Smith converted an NCAA record 10 of 10 attempts from the 3-point line.
